We're
so happy you decided to drop in. My husband was so afraid that all
of the animals that we have were frightening away visitors.
I keep telling him that we are nowhere near our quota!
Right now we share our home, in Ontario Canada, with a number of creatures.
They are as follows. 6 purebred Australian
Cattle Dogs, (Zahra and her 2 daughters, Mica, Zilla, as well as her
granddaughter, Koala, and also Zahra's half-sister, Legacy), 1 Cattle dog cross,
(Elsa), 8 Dexter Cattle, 25- and more to come- Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Netherland
Dwarf and New Zealand White rabbits, various bird species including- but certainly not limited to-
Guinea Fowl, White Wyandottes, Muscovy Ducks, Silkies, and Call Ducks,. 25-30 Shetland Sheep, and
6 Icelandic Sheep. Our animal collection does have a tendancy to grow, so please make sure to check back every once in a while to see
what new additions have arrived!! We are also happy to annouce the birth of our daughter, Aalia May Gade, who was born on Spetember 26, 2002, and
weighed a whopping eight pounds, seven ounces!!!
2001 proved to be a very difficult year. In June, my little shadow, Veliraf's Kakira the Firechaser was killed suddenly. That was a huge loss for me. Then in early September, another tragedy struck- our barn was destroyed in a horrific, and deadly fire. My rabbits, whom I've owned and loved for 10 years were wiped out in an instant. Also lost was a beautiful heifer calf, two newborn goat kids, all of my chickens- except for 2- one of whom was in the house being spoiled, the 'gentleman'- my muscovy drakes, and some of my indian runners. Luckily, the rear barn door was still open, or all of my Icelandics and all of my ducks would have perished as well. 2002 doesn't appear to be starting out much better either, as in early march the vet was called out to attend to our Icelandic ram, Baloo. Turned out that Baloo had nasty, and incurable- rabies. Another of my favourites is now in our Cemetary, and our farm is under quarantine. Perhaps the spring and summer will improve. I certainly hope so!!!!!!!!
I also
show my cattle dogs on occasion, Mica in particular, but there doesn't
seem to be enough competition to gain her championship. I will keep
trying though, and someday I'm sure it will happen.
