Welcome to our boar page. Since we only own a few sows- we currently have only one boar in residence here at our farm. We will likely be looking(in the not too distant future) to bring in another unrelated boar. Not sure yet where he will come from. In dealing with a rare breed it can sometimes  be quite challenging to find new bloodlines to incorporate into our breeding program.  Our current boar is Just a few Acres 28S- otherwise known as Diego. We are quite pleased with this big guy. His first litters here have been nice. The piglets have generally been long, level, and very consistant. We also love this guys temperament. He is very mellow and quite easy to handle, even for his large size. The picture is of one of our sows with a litter sired by Deigo. When we do have a nice picture of our big fella- we'll post it ASAP.
We strive to keep our animals as happy and healthy as possible. We do not not use farrowing crates, nor do we clip piglets teeth or tails. Our adult pigs are fed a sow ration, with hay in the winter. When summer rolls around they will be moved out to the yard- where they will be able to roll in the mud, graze on grass, and have access to plenty of healthy sunlight and fresh air.
